EnCalcL Version 2.4 Released

EnCalcL calculates the cost of purchasing and running water using appliances, allowing two alternative items to be compared under the same conditions or the true cost of one item to be worked out simply. This update improves compatibility with Vista and fixes a number of minor bugs, see history for details of the changes.

EnCalcL Version 2.3 Released

Have you ever wondered whether it is worth investing in dual flush toilets or wanted to work out just how much leaving the tap on while cleaning your teeth is costing you. Do you want to find out how much that dripping tap costs. Or may be you want to help the environment by conserving water. If the answer to any of these is yes then maybe EnCalcL can help you. The program supports Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 (32 & 64 bit) and Windows Vista and is simple to install and use. 

This minor update to EnCalcL adds file created date to log file. Fixes bug where a corrupted log file can cause a run time error, log file now uses short date format, minor formatting improvements to log file. Improvements made to error handling and reporting. If currency not equal to £ or € program displays Tax instead of VAT. Fixes bug where changing currency setting while the program is running may cause errors. Fixes bug where clicking Save Defaults twice cleared calculated results. If no data to calculate error message now says no data to calculate. Now recalculates if currency symbol only is changed. Various minor updates and improvements to help. Program also checked out on Windows Vista.

The results can be saved to a log file for later analysis. EnCalcL is part of the JSutils group of software utilities which have a theme of energy conservation.

Coming mid April: EnCalcL Version 2.3 - This is a minor update to fix some small bugs and make minor improvements.. Main changes are log file format improved including fixing a bug where a corrupted log file can cause a run time error. Removed Uninstall link from Installer. About screen colours changed a bit to make it more readable. Improved error handling. Made VAT=TAX if not £ or Euro. Fixes a bug where changing the currency setting while the program is running may cause errors. If no data to calculate now says no data to calulate. Now recalculates if currency symbol only changed. Fixes bug where clicking Save Defaults twice clears calculated results. Help improved.
Coming End April: KeyOff Version 1 - This is the first version of a companion to CPUOff which shuts down a computer if there is no mouse or keyboard activity for a specified time. Like CPUOff the program is fully configurable via a configuration screen. It can also shut down a remote computer.

Coming Mid June: LANOff Version 3.0 - A major update to remove external dependencies and add a configuration screen plus many more changes.
