JSutils has released an update to network monitor and shutdown utility LANOff to add the option to archive and clear the log file plus fix a few bugs. See history for details. LANOff monitors network connections and optionally initiates computer shutdown if the network connection to specified computers is lost. LANOff supports all the normal shut down modes. LanOff is part of the JSutils group of software utilities which have a theme of energy conservation.

JSutils has just successfully completed compatibility testing of LANOff, a network activity monitor and shutdown utility, with Windows 7 and Windows Vista Service Pack 2. Over the next week we will be completing compatibility testing with the other JSutils programs.

JSutils has just released an update to LANOff. The Installer and executable are now digitally signed plus there have been some other minor changes. LANOff monitors up to four remote computers from a client computer and optionally shuts down the client and specified remote computers when the network fails or the specified computer shuts down. Various parameters can be set via the configuration screen. This was designed to be used in conjunction with CPUOff to enable a backup server to be shut down automatically once several computers on a local network had completed their backups. It can also be used on it’s own. LANOff supports all the normal shut down modes. The program operates by interrogating each remote computer via a small slave program once a second. Up to four remote computers can be monitored or controlled with shutdown being initiated when connection to all computers is lost. Uses of LANOff include monitoring up to four computers connected to a server shutting down the server when it is no longer needed or shutting down up to four computers connected to a server when the server shuts down. It can be started via the Windows Task Scheduler, on start up or manually.

JSutils has just released an update to LANOff a shut down utility which detects processor load. This minor update removes a spurious line from the log file, corrects the configuration screen tool tips and improves the help based on user feedback plus includes some minor fixes and changes.
