JSutils News 0908 Aug

Welcome to the world of computer energy saving and energy calculation software from JSutils.

OK so the holidays are a distant memory and the hard work starts again. After a break the rate of program updates will start to increase over the next few weeks.

Due to popular demand our priorities have changed slightly to put focus on digitally signing our software to stop the scary ‘Unknown Publisher’ pop up on installation. All programs released from now on will have both the installer and main executable digitally signed using a fully traceable certificate from Comodo. If you access the properties of the installer and executable you will see an extra tab called  Digital Signatures where you can find more details about the certificate

It is also likely at least one other program will be digitally signed  during this month.

Programs Released Over The Last Month Or So

EnCalcE Version 4.2 Released 29-July-2009
Apart from fixing a few small bugs this update adds the ability to archive results files. It all fixes a bug where currency symbols didn’t update properly. See history for further details. EnCalcE calculates the cost of purchasing and running electrical appliances, allowing 2 alternative items to be compared under the same running conditions. The results can be saved to a log file for later analysis. Variables such as life, purchase cost and power (including standby power) can be independently varied for the 2 items for specified payback times, hours of use and electricity cost to work out the true total cost of items including inflation and the amount of CO2 saved.
